We are almost there!

After three years of derby "retirement," we are all ready and excited to have derby to-do lists alongside our personal to-do lists once again. We are slowly getting things done, and we have almost enough gear and funds to be confident we can open registration as planned in January - just a few more items to secure, and we will be good to go!

While I've thoroughly enjoyed a break from the hours of practice, travel, games, emails, and meetings, I must say that it is also really exciting to get back into the swing of things again. I have missed this wonderful sport, and the amazing positive change it can effect, in so many ways. While derby can be an all-encompassing hobby, I feel confident coming back into this world, having learned a few things about life/derby balance, and resolute that this incarnation will start small and simple, and progress only as much or as fast as we three volunteers can handle while still having both a good time and enough time to do the other things that bring us joy in our lives.

We (OK, mostly likely I) will be posting here semi-regularly to let you know how things are progressing, when there are opportunities to get involved, and of course, to introduce you to our first skaters.
